Single Office Deployment

You have two installation choices.  You can purchase a Practice Director pre-installed server or our technicians will remotely install Practice Director on your existing server. Our Technicians install Practice Director into office environments that use Windows, Macintosh or Linux Operating Systems.

Choice 1: Practice Director Pre-installed Server
If you choose to receive Practice Director on a Pre-installed Server the Server will be shipped to you at a time agreed  during your kick off call with your assigned consultant.   The Application Server Hardware from Practice Director will arrive at your office fully configured and ready for  “plug-and-play” deployment. 

When your Server arrives, call our Practice Director Technicians to assist with installing the Server into your office. Once the Server is connected to your network, installing Practice Director on all your office workstations is as easy as typing in a web address from the workstation, and the Server will install Practice Director to the workstation. You may begin using the Sandbox Training/Testing data base as soon as your installation is complete.

Choice 2: Remote Installation of Practice Director
If you have not purchased a server from us a time is scheduled  with one our technicians to install the Practice Director on your server.  The remote installation will take 1 – 2 hours, however generally our technicians only need ten minutes of your time to establish a secure internet connection.  You may begin using the Sandbox Training/Testing data base as soon as your installation is complete.

Local Area Network – Wireless or Cabled
A basic Local Area Network (LAN), with cables or wireless connectivity, is required in your office in order to connect multiple workstations to the Practice Director server.  If your workstations are currently able to share files and communicate, it is likely your office has a LAN already established.  Most local area networks are built with relatively inexpensive hardware such as ethernet cables, switches and/or wireless modems.

Workstations & Servers
Unlike many other software solutions, Practice Director allows an unlimited number of connected workstations, or concurrent TCP/IP connections from workstations.  Workstations can use Windows, Macintosh, Linux or operating systems.  Some of our customers use a combination of all three operating systems, e.g. Macintosh in the exam rooms and front desk, PC’s elsewhere.
