Equipment Linking
Practice Director’s EMR supports acquiring habitual, keratometry, objective refraction, and tonometry readings directly from the associated diagnostic systems. Our technicians have successfully linked systems Topcon, Marco, Nidek, Burton, Reichert, Huvitz, Medmont, Carl Zeiss and others.
“Our pretesting equipment has interfaced very well! Needless to say, as we upgrade, we are now buying EMR connectable equipment. We have Marco and Topcon and haven’t had any problems!” – Joy Kissel, O.D., Oceana, WV
What’s Involved:
Practice Director technicians develop the mapping and configuration software code (scripts) to complete a successful data transfer from your equipment to Practice Director. This requires you to be involved at two separate times of approximately one half hour each.
Before our technicians conduct these steps the necessary connection cable(s) are installed between the Equipment and a Practice Director work station, typically in the pretest area of your office.
The first step we perform is capturing output test data from the Equipment that will be uploaded into Practice Director. We schedule onr half hour of your time with one of our technicians to capture this data. We use the test data to write the configuration scripts that will allow for proper electronic transfer of data from the Equipment to Practice Director.
The second step involves testing the accuracy our configuration scripts. Once we have completed writing the scripts one of our technicians will contact you to arrange a time to test the scripts to ensure the Equipment output data is properly transferring to Practice Director. We need one half hour of your time to assist us with this second test.
Generally the entire process, test data, writing the scripts and testing will take approximately two weeks to complete and you’ll then be uploading the data into Practice Director automatically rather than spending the time to manually enter the data.
We’re confident you will find our Equipment Linking service a great value.
