Secure Your Data

Backups are a vital part of any business that uses computers. Without a proper backup of your system, you could lose months of data and be forced to re-enter patient records because of a power outage or bad storm. Practice Director automatically backs up a copy of its data to your server computer’s hard drive, but what if that hard drive crashes? Or perhaps your office is broken into and your computer is stolen? Having a backup on your local computer may not be enough to protect you from loss.

Practice Director offers a remote backup option for securely moving your backup data off-site. For $169 per year, we will set up and monitor remote backups of your Practice Director data. This includes 5GB of storage for scanned images and documents in addition to Practice Director itself. For an additional cost, more storage space is available. These remote backups are kept for 30 days and can be retrieved by Practice Director technicians from any Internet-enabled computer at any time. Your data is encrypted before being sent over the Internet to prevent unauthorized access.

Remote backups require your Practice Director server to have Internet access. Some versions of Linux may not be compatible with our remote backup system. For more information about how the backup process works, send an e-mail to Tanner at TMoormeier@PracticeDirector.com or contact us.
